More about my story – how I got here
As I was approaching my final year of undergraduate studies in psychology, I realised I had a growing interest in positive psychology. This motivated me to do some research on which masters were available to study this topic and where. As I was doing more research every day, anxious thoughts started to creep in. I felt stuck. Being in a transitioning phase which involved making a decision felt overwhelming to say the least. Later I realised that most master applications had closed for the upcoming academic year. At this point, all I was left with was utter discouragement.
Then one day I came across a website that introduced me to coaching. I had already heard of coaching before, but thought it had little, if nothing, to do with positive psychology. The idea of coaching to me was someone giving advice and motivation to those who needed it the most. Little did I know that coaching was so much more than that.
I kept looking at what coaching was and how I could become a certified coach. I realised that my purpose, which was to help others feel better and empowered, could be well achieved by practicing this profession. This finally led me to look for coaching schools that offered training online. I was happy to learn that anyone, from any background, could enroll in coaching at any time. So this is what I did.
I am forever grateful for this opportunity and for the universe showing me a way forward.
